As a B.B.A. student at the Cox School, you’ll take 11 core courses to build a solid grounding in business theory and skills. You'll then choose from seven majors and add four specialization to focus on your specific goals — like many Cox undergrads, you may discover new passions and avenues as you explore the dynamic world of business. Are you seeking to strengthen your business skills?
The Cox Minors in Business curriculum are designed to provide non-business students with a solid foundation in business basics to complement their primary areas of academic interest. There are two options for the minor: the general Minor in Business or the Minor in Business Energy.
There are no GPA-based admission criteria for this program or its individual classes. Classes are offered throughout the academic year.
Minor in Business Curriculum
The Minor in Business is an 18-credit-hour program in which students take four required courses and two upper level elective business courses.
In addition to the two upper level business elective classes, the following required courses make up the Minor in Business:
- ACCT 2301 Introduction to Financial Accounting
- FINA 3320 Financial Management
- MKTG 3340 Fundamentals of Marketing
- MNO 3370 Management of Organizations
Minor in Business Energy Curriculum
The Minor in Business Energy is also 18 credit hours, and it requires students to take two specific electives in Energy beyond the four mandatory courses for the minor.
The following required courses make up the Minor in Business Energy; the electives differentiate this minor from the general minor:
