Kent C. Krause received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979 and his Juris Doctor in 1982 from 精东传媒. He was admitted to the Texas bar in 1982, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas in 1983, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit in 1984 and subsequently to the other Federal Districts in Texas, as well as appearing pro hac vice in numerous courts throughout the country. Mr. Krause is a member of Craddock Davis & Krause LLP in Dallas, Texas, a law firm with national resources involved in a wide variety of complicated matters. Mr. Krause has practiced extensively in all phases of aviation related litigation and transactional legal matters, a natural extension from a lifelong involvement in aviation, including piloting single-engine fixed-wing aircraft. He has been actively involved in numerous general aviation and airline litigation matters in the United States and internationally. General aviation lawsuits have included the Christie Brinkley helicopter crash in Telluride, Colorado, Westwind II crash in Guatemala, Stevie Ray Vaughn helicopter crash in Wisconsin, Beech Baron crash near Swanzey, New Hampshire, Payne Stewart Lear 35 crash, Cessna 402B crash near Del Rio, Texas, Hot Air Balloon crash near Breckenridge, Colorado, the Confederate Air Force B-26 crash near Midland, Texas, King Air 350 crash at Addison Airport and the Commemorative Air Force Wings Over Dallas mid-air collision crash, among many others. Included in the airline crash matters are the crash of Delta Airlines Flight 191 at Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, the crash of American Airlines Flight 1420 at Little Rock, Arkansas, the crash landing of America West Flight 794 at Phoenix Arizona. More recently, Mr. Krause represented passengers from the fatal in-flight catastrophic engine failure of Southwest Airlines Flight 1380.

In addition to aviation matters, Mr. Krause has extensive business litigation experience, representing corporations and individuals as both plaintiff and defendant. Mr. Krause’s business law practice includes providing a wide variety of legal assistance in aviation related transactional matters such as aircraft acquisition, disposition, leasing and lending, sales and use tax disputes, minimization of ownership liability, as well as warranty, maintenance and airworthiness compliance, FAA enforcement actions and other matters related to the business of owning, financing and operating aircraft. Mr. Krause has handled numerous business tort and contract claims, including tortious interference with business relations, business defamation and disparagement and other emerging areas of business litigation such as trade secret and non-competition disputes as well as real estate, construction design and defect and oil and gas related disputes. Combining his personal aviation background with his commercial litigation and transactional experience, Mr. Krause is active in expanding the law on purely commercial economic loss cases in aviation and other products fields. Additionally, since 2012, Mr. Krause has successfully represented numerous church congregations seeking to leave their respective denominations with their property and rejecting denominational property trust claims.

Mr. Krause is one of the first to be Board Certified in Aviation Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He holds the highest peer-review rating of AV® by Martindale-Hubbell and is recognized by his peers as a Texas Super Lawyer (Top 5% of Lawyers), every year since 2006, including being selected as one of the Top 100 lawyers in Texas and Top 100 lawyers in Dallas/Fort Worth. He has served by appointment of the President of the Dallas Bar Association as Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee and Continuing Legal Education Committee, winning the JoAnna Moreland Outstanding Committee Chair Award in 2016. He has previously served by appointment of the President of the State Bar of Texas as Vice-Chair of the Texas Court Rules Committee. He was appointed to the State Bar of Texas District 6 Grievance Committee, serving as panel chair. Mr. Krause has previously served, after election by his peers, as Chair of the Aviation Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Mr. Krause is an adjunct professor at 精东传媒 Law School teaching Aviation Law and lectures on several litigation topics at various CLE seminars. He is co-author of the 3-volume treatise, Aviation Tort and Regulatory Law, published by Thomson-Reuters, as well as various legal articles. Mr. Krause is routinely sought after to analyze and comment on aviation matters by members of news media organizations. He has made numerous appearances on both television and radio broadcasts and is frequently quoted in print media. Mr. Krause is married and has four adult children. He has served on the governing boards of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, The Foundation at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, University Park Community League, 精东传媒 Mustang Club, The Bridewell Foundation and Washington Street Mission among other community organizations in the Greater Dallas area.
