Scholarships & Fellowships

The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program provides fully funded immersive summer programs for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to learn languages of strategic importance to the United States’ national security, economic prosperity, and engagement with the world.

 

 

SALAM is a fully funded intensive Arabic language scholarship program. SALAM is held at the Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-native Speakers in Manah, Oman. This intensive Arabic language program will allow students to gain a deeper knowledge of Arabic, while becoming familiar with Omani history and culture.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program and the Center for Advanced Arabic Study in Cairo (CAASIC) is an intensive Arabic language program designed for students from the United States with high levels of Arabic proficiency to attend the American University in Cairo (AUC) to advance their Arabic language fluency. This program offers a rigorous academic and immersive experience in the culture of Egypt and the Middle East. 

 

 

CASA I (qualified undergrad, recent grads and graduate students) offers a 9-month advanced level training in Arabic language and culture Fellowship program to qualified American undergrad and graduate level students at the Qasid Arabic Institute in Amman, Jordan or the Arab American Language Institute in Morocco (AALIM) in Meknes, Morocco. 

 

 

Ibn Battuta Arabic Scholarships aim to reward students for their excellence and dedication to studying the Arabic language and promote the study of Arabic as a foreign language. Prospective students may apply to either one of the semester programs (fall, spring) or one of the winter and summer programs offered at the Qalam wa Lawh Center in Rabat, Morocco.
